چکیده
This paper presents and compares three volume sensors to be used in mechanical ventilators developed laboratory: sensor based on the Pitot tube, Venturi tube infrared(IR) sensor. The were calibrated tested with a ventilator Pressure-controlled Ventilation (PCV) mode. maximum pressure changed, keeping textitPositive End-Expiratory Pressure (PEEP) respiratory rate fixed. For each value: value measured by was compared reference value, informed ventilator. infrared showed better performance for specific application ventilator, being only considered adequate between ones.

Inaccuracy of tidal volume delivered by home mechanical ventilators.
Ideally, the inspired (tidal) volume (V(T)) provided by a volume-controlled ventilation device should not change when the pressure imposed on the ventilator varies. A bench study evaluation of V(T) versus pressure was performed on 10 commercially available devices. The difference between the desired V(T) and the observed V(T) reached 100 mL for some devices when inspiratory resistance was at it...
متن کاملA comparison of turbine-driven mechanical ventilators and conventional ventilators
Turbine-driven mechanical ventilators have some important advantages over conventional ventilators. The most obvious of these is independence of compressed air supply during patient transport, but higher NIV performance due to higher peak flow is also often mentioned. However, there is still a widespread belief that conventional ventilators using compressed air supplies outperform turbine-drive...
متن کاملUpdate on modalities of mechanical ventilators.
Recent advances in ventilator technology have often not been confirmed by randomised trials and instead serious shortcomings have been highlighted. Ventilation modes should only be introduced into routine clinical practice when proved efficacious in appropriately designed studies and no adverse outcomes identified by long term follow up.
متن کاملMobile Context Inference Using Low-Cost Sensors
In this paper, we introduce a compact system for fusing location data with data from simple, low-cost, non-location sensors to infer a user’s place and situational context. Specifically, the system senses location with a GSM cell phone and a WiFi-enabled mobile device (each running Place Lab), and collects additional sensor data using a 2” x 1” sensor board that contains a set of common sensors...
متن کاملLow Cost Accelerometer Sensors - Applications and Challenges
Newly developed low cost MEMS based tri-axial accelerometers can be readily and economically installed on easily accessible structural forms, such as pedestrian bridges, and even urban trees, to perform field experiments for research and enhancing the learning experience of engineering student classes in dynamics and associated disciplines. In addition, nowadays such accelerometers normally for...
